This position will actively identify and pursue leads, address customer’s questions and concerns, and meet sales quotas of PV systems and energy efficiency services. Outside Sales Consultants will spend much of their time traveling to and visiting with prospective customers.  Outside Sales Consultants are the primary external representatives of SolarCity and are expected to convey a sense ofexpertise in services and capabilities offered.   This position requires tact, sensitivity, and a high degree of customer service and professionalism.
 
Responsibilities
  • Sales of residential solar electric systems and energy efficiency upgrades.
  • Closing deals and signing contracts.
  • Prospecting for and qualifying leads.
  • Conducting site evaluations for potential customers, rough system design.
  • Estimating cost and pricing systems.
  •  Analysis of customers’ current and projected electrical usage, and financial return on investment.
  • Negotiating contracts.
  • Communicating with and assisting internal departments regarding project specifics to ensure satisfactory completion of projects and high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Logging all communications with customers in contact database.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly reports to management.
Requirements
 
  •    Minimum one year of experience with grid-tied solar electric sales.
  •   Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed stated sales goals
  •   Positive attitude with focus on doing what’s best for our customers and our company
  •   World class communication and customer service skills and experience.
  •   Desire to stay on the leading edge of the industry.
  •  Commitment to team environment and to being a strong team player.
  •  Strong math and computer skills.
  •  Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience performing and explaining financial calculations (ROI, IRR, NPV, APR, etc.).
  • Capacity to explain technical aspects of system design and functionality.
  • Understanding of general construction practices
  •  Ability to read and understand electrical and structural plans.
  • Four year college degree.
  • All candidates to be hired must successfully pass a background check and drug screen
