Description

The Job: Old Park Hill is one of the Trust’s newest nature reserves situated on the outskirts of Dover Town. The reserve covers some 36 ha of old chalk grassland with peripheral woodland.  This post is key to the development and delivery of the Old Park Hill Reaching Communities Project. It will provide a real opportunity to develop a compelling engagement programme with communities in Dover leading to:

  • Improved health and wellbeing through increased positive connection with nature.
  • A stronger sense of ownership of the natural environment.
  • Increased confidence and improved skill sets through project volunteering, training and education.
  • Improved life chances for local children and young people through family / group learning.

You:  You will contribute to the development of the community engagement programme working with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery. The Outreach Officer will recruit, coordinate and manage teams of tutors, volunteers and contractors.  You will bring excellent interpersonal and people skills, creativity and a flexible approach to problem solving. You will be passionate about reaching out to local people to increase engagement with nature conservation.
