This project is looking for a highly motivated individual interested in getting hands-on experience in organic gardening in northern Patagonia. The organic garden intern will work closely with the organic agriculture program coordinator to manage and maintain the garden. The garden and adjoining greenhouse serve as a tool to teach community members organic agricultural practices that stop degradation and simultaneously encourage a healthier, locally based food system. The intern will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the garden, training and coordination of volunteers, and preparation of a small portion of the produce for sale. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn new organic methodologies and then teach volunteers and community members these practices.
The intern receives free accommodation plus a weekly produce stipend from the garden and an additional food stipend.
