Description

We are looking to recruit a new Operations Manager for the Council's waste management service, City Clean.

Main advert detail

This is an exciting time to join Brighton & Hove City Council within the City Clean team. We have launched a city–wide green waste collections service, introduced our commercial waste service and we are on a journey to transformation. Though much has already been achieved, much still needs to be done to improve services which will ensure the successful delivery of current projects, as well as developing new ones.

As the successful candidate you will possess leadership skills and have experience of managing a large, manual workforce within an operational and unionised setting. You will have a track record of successfully developing and delivering service improvements, and you will also have a strong customer ethos, a collaborative approach and excellent communication skills across a broad range of diverse groups.

We offer great terms and conditions including the Local Government Pension Scheme, excellent training and development, generous annual leave and staff discounts.

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time, 37 per week

We highly recommend you read the ‘Statement Guidance’ below before you apply for this job. It is important you are able to show how you meet the Person Specification when applying. Not following this guidance is likely to reduce your chances of success.

Deadline for applications is midnight 2nd November. Interview dates to be confirmed.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage BME, disabled, female and Trans applicants as these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce.
