This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career in the marine renewables industry.

The Company – Tidal Energy Ltd (TEL) (www.tidalenergyltd.com) is an innovative tidal stream technology company preparing to install and test at sea a full-scale prototype tidal stream generating device known as DeltaStream. The device will be constructed and tested in Pembrokeshire, south west Wales, with sea trials due to commence in early 2014. TEL’s management team has extensive experience in successful entrepreneurship, profitable renewable energy project development and deep-rooted marine industry expertise.

The Role – The role will be to oversee and manage the Fabrication, Assembly, Commissioning, Deployment and Operation of the demonstration DeltaStream device, co-ordinating closely with the Engineering Manager and external contractors. Key aspects of responsibility will include:

- Provision of experienced project management to ensure the DeltaStream device is deployed on time and to budget.

- Liaison and direction for the design team with regard to design for manufacture and operability of the system to ensure full compliance with all appropriate engineering standards and safe operation during the course of the project.

- Leadership and development of the operational management capability of TEL to enable commercial scale construction and deployment of post-prototype DeltaStream devices.

TEL is based in Cardiff, and will shortly open an office in Pembrokeshire where this role will be based. Frequent travel to Cardiff and to contractors’ premises in the UK can be expected.

Required Qualifications and Experience – You will be a Chartered Engineer or equivalently experienced in a mechanical, electrical or marine engineering discipline with direct experience of engineering management in high technical and high commercial risk projects.
