The National Geosequestration Laboratory (NGL) is a $48 million infrastructure project which will create a national facility to aid the rapid deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies. The Laboratory will facilitate the conduct of research and development on subsurface locations for storage activities. The Operations Manager will report to the WA:ERA (WA Energy Research Alliance) CEO who is directly responsible to the WA:ERA Board. You will work closely with the NGL Project Director (responsible for the progressive implementation of the NGL) and the NGL Science Director (coordinator of NGL research). While you will not have direct control of NGL laboratories, equipment and staff, you will be responsible for optimising usage of equipment, and scheduling of work and maintenance, so that the NGL operates effectively on a day to-day basis following WA:ERA Board access principles and meeting science goals. The successful candidate will play an important role in budgeting, contracting, coordinating, monitoring, auditing and compliance oversight for the NGL. You will be responsible for ensuring that the NGL operations are appropriately documented, that relevant training is conducted and competencies met, and all legal requirements are satisfied.
