Description of the jobSalary £15,960 - £17,304
Locations: Swindon, Aylesbury or Bicester The role We carry out general maintenance and construction works on rivers and associated flood defences. This includes grass cutting, aquatic weed control, tree/bush maintenance, the removal of obstructions in watercourses and inspections of flood banks and flood control structures. A key part of the job will be to respond to emergency flooding and pollution incidents so you'll be included in a 24/7 standby rota. The team We work to reduce the risk of flooding and its consequences to properties and infrastructure in the South East Region, West Thames area. Experience/skills required We’re looking for an operative with some experience of: • plant operations; • chainsaw and small power tools; • understanding of health and safety documentation; • working within a team. Other key requirements for this job include sound knowledge of health and safety, good communication skills and the ability to work in a small team. Training will be provided.
Additional useful information You'll be required to hold a full driving license.
This is a field based position, starting at Team Member 1A, possible base locations are Swindon, Aylesbury or Bicester but you may be required to work from other locations within West Thames area.
