The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks an Operations Director of Member Experience in Charlestown, NH

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Selection and Advisor groups in supporting, guiding and placing potential applicants/members in conservation service volunteer positions while enhancing the overall member experience
  • Oversee department objectives for improved customer service with internal and external constituents using effective management  tools
  • Create, implement and manage policies and procedures regarding applicant management, interviewing and selection processes across multiple teams in conjunction with Director of Member Services
  • Collaborate with Recruitment department on application conversion and placement
  • Collaborate, develop and manage budget with Director of Member Services


  • 7+ related experience (admissions, recruiting, hiring) required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Interviewing and/or advising/counseling experience needed
  • 4+ years team leadership and supervisory experience required
  • Budget management experience highly preferred
  • Experience  with database information manipulation and reporting required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills a must
  • Demonstrated experience with process evaluation and improvement required
  • Strong customer service ethic required
  • Strong MSOffice skills required particularly Word, Excel and Outlook required
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Valid driver’s license with MVR that meets SCA standards required
  • Willingness to travel nationally (5%) required
  • Must have access to cell phone for business purposes
