Description

Operations & Site Officer
£21,196-£26,461
Cupar & Forth Area
(Ref: 047-332)

The Forth Area has 85 sites that are subject to favourable condition targets set by the Scottish Government for nature conservation and biodiversity. The condition of natural features on these sites is monitored through Scottish Natural Heritage's Site Condition Monitoring (SCM) programme.

Responsible for leading action on up to five of the Delivering Favourable Conditions (DFC) features, your activities will include influencing land managers, agreeing works, negotiating contracts and working on bids. You will also play a key role in overall site condition monitoring.

With a focus on environmental management and protection, this role requires the knowledge and experience to identity a range of botanical species in the field and to give authoritative advice on managing sites to bring them up to favourable condition. You'll also need good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. As fieldwork can take place in remote locations, your own transport is essential. This is a temporary contract to 30th June 2015 for a full-time post at 37 hours per week.

Were as supportive, committed and proud of our people as we are of the natural world around us. Find out more, and apply, online. Alternatively, call 01463 725182.

Closing date: 11th November 2013.
