Earthjustice currently has an opening for an Online Fundraising Associate. We seek an individual with prior fundraising experience to help implement an aggressive yearly online fundraising strategy. This position requires creative energy, drive to meet fundraising goals, and a solid background in writing and analytics. Some design and html background is preferred, but not required. This position will work with our web and development teams to ensure overall effectiveness of messaging, timing, and integration of Earthjustice’s fundraising efforts.
This position reports to the Online Fundraising Manager and will work in close coordination with our Web Administrator, Marketing Manager, Direct Marketing Data Assistant, and outside list growth vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
List Growth and Donor Conversion
• Work with online team to grow email list through paid and unpaid efforts.
• Implement welcome and conversion efforts to new list members.
• Assist in developing and testing new strategies for converting list members into donors.
• Manage donor email preferences.
• Work with communications staff on public outreach via social media and AdWords campaigns to grow donor pool through social and other nontraditional donor channels.
Documentation and Analysis
• Create a testing priority calendar and document test results.
• Populate online fundraising dashboard on a monthly basis.
• Document procedures as they are developed.
Creative Fundraising and Writing
• Assist with the writing, design and layout of fundraising emails, and donation forms.
• Stay abreast of current email marketing trends, new technology solutions, and competitive strategies, especially in fundraising.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and 1+ years experience working on online fundraising efforts for nonprofit organizations.
• Experience with multi-channel marketing—integrating email, social media, mobile, and direct mail fundraising efforts for optimal results.
• Convio, Photoshop, and HTML experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines, and respond quickly to new opportunities.
• Interest in environmental issues.
