The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization for youth, seeks a Director of Online Communications to join our Marketing & Communications Department in SCA’s Charlestown, NH operations center.

This position leads and manages electronic outreach and interactions on an organization-wide level.  Additional responsibilities include actively participating in the creation of communications strategies and plans with the MarComm Leadership Group and other leadership teams across the organization as appropriate.  The Director of Online Communications also has oversight responsibility for SCA’s websites and social networking.

Candidates should be dynamic, strategic, innovative, collaborative multi-taskers.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating comprehensive online strategies focused on list growth, list engagement, and revenue development
  • Maximizing SCA’s email lists, website, social media, digital multimedia, search, online advertising, and mobile technology
  • Managing a multi-disciplinary internal team and outside vendors to advance SCA’s presence online

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or discipline preferred
  • Minimum of  8+ years’ experience in communications management, with demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and manage strategies, people, and budgets
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in web-based outreach
  • Extensive experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations, and/or related field
  • Experience using and administering internet technologies such as CMS and eCRM: Drupal, Convio; Up-to-date training and skills in HTML, XHTML, CSS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
