The Online Campaigns & Publishing Associate coordinates the Online Marketing and Communications team’s daily activities, including Website, marketing, and online outreach campaigns in a fast-paced and innovative environment.  The Coordinator helps manage our Wildlife Adoption Center (www.WildlifeAdoption.org), online name acquisition, websites and promotional campaigns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Wildlife Adoption Center (www.WildlifeAdoption.org):

  • Manage Adoption Center website including general maintenance, updates and redesigns
  • Manage administrative aspects including product management, ordering, and inventory tracking
  • Manage Adoption Center strategy/design timeline
  • Help develop marketing strategy and marketing ideas for Adoption Center
  • Project manage various elements of Adoption Center marketing strategy, such as working with vendors to develop Adoption Center flyers and other marketing materials, or coordinating outreach through media such as upcoming films
  • Coordinate activities with various vendors to ensure that promotions are coordinated and deadlines are met
  • Conduct new and competitive research
  • Reporting and analysis

Online Campaigns:

  • Manage ongoing Defenders’ campaigns like Google AdWords and Mobile Giving including administrative aspects, development, strategy, reporting and analysis
  • Manage paid and unpaid acquisition partnerships such as list swaps with peer organizations and lead generation with third-party vendors such as Care2.com, Change.org, the Animal Rescue Site and others, including contract negotiation, implementation and analysis
  • Manage beneficial partnerships with likeminded nonprofit organizations like the Animal Rescue Site that promote Defenders’ mission and brand
  • Assist with copywriting and editing for e-mail campaigns as appropriate

Website:

  • Assist with maintaining and improving the overall quality of Defenders’ existing Websites
  • Edit and write content, ensuring that it meets Defenders’ Website guidelines
  • Make regular updates to Defenders’ Websites while maintaining effective site architecture and page layout
  • Help manage photo assets for online team’s use using available DAM, and work as part of team for annual photo contest
  • Light graphic design of new web page elements

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent. B.A. in communications, marketing or related discipline
  • Experience: 2+ years of website, project management, and/or marketing experience, preferably in an environment where extensively using Internet Websites and technologies
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Ultimately, enthusiasm and the skill sets below are most important.

      • Project management experience
      • Familiarity with Web technologies and software such as Dreamweaver (or other Web editing software), HTML, Photoshop and, Google Analytics
      • Knowledge of CMS such as Convio and Crown Peak.
      • Marketing experience, especially Internet marketing skills
      • Strong copy editing skills
      • Knowledge of general conservation/environmental issues
