On-Call Botanists

Job description (duties):

We are looking for field botanists with good taxonomic skills, which include proficient use of the Jepson Manual.  Work in remote and challenging environments may be required in extreme weather and/or terrain.  Travel throughout California and Nevada may also be required.  
  
Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience conducting floristic surveys in the San Francisco Bay Area and/or Northern California
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in botany, ecology or environmental science; Master’s Degree in botany, plant biology or ecology preferred
• Strong taxonomic skills
• Ability to use GPS mapping technology.  Experience with Trimble GPS equipment is desired, but not required.
• Willingness to travel throughout California and Nevada for extended periods
• Physically able to work in variable terrain and weather conditions
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent writing and note-taking skills
• Ability to work as part of a team is essential
