My client is a global leader within the wind sector, delivering services world wide for market leading developers, manufacturers, consultants and operators. To strengthen their current team they are now looking for an experienced Offshore Foundation Engineer to be based in Singapore.
Position Overview:
As the new Offshore Foundation Engineer, you will oversee foundation selection for early stage project assessments in an office based role with occasional travel to sites, reporting directly to the Lead Structural Engineer.
Responsibilities:-
• Develop FEED level foundation study work for wind and tidal projects
• Provide detailed designs of monopile foundations for wind turbines and met masts
• Review geotechnical site investigations
• Specification and review of offshore and onshore site investigations
• Prepare design basis, design brief and design report documents
• Provide support for offshore projects in defining the engineering envelope
• Provide support for tidal projects on foundation concepts, installation methodologies and construction techniques
• Assist in the preparation of scopes and specifications for tender documents for foundations, and review tender documents that have been submitted
• Managing independent verification bodies
• Occasional supervision of offshore and onshore site investigation work
• Preparation of sketches and review of drawings of engineering designs and concepts
Education:-
• Must have a strong academic background with a degree in civil engineering, structural engineering or geotechnical engineering
Core Requirements:-
• Knowledge of the wind industry and the offshore sector are not essential but would be strongly advantageous
• Good understanding of geotechnics
• Ability to use structural/geotechnical software (preferred ASAS-Ansys)
• Understanding of piling (large and small diameter, drilled/driven)
• Understanding of gravity base design
• Working knowledge of structural dynamics
• The ability to work as client, consultant and contractor depending on specific project and role
• Good communication skills including report writing, presentation and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and consultants
• The ability to manage own workload and meet demanding timescales on a number of potentially simultaneous projects

• Experience of the Wind Industry
• Experience and training in CDM regulations
• Knowledge of codes and standards relevant to offshore structures and offshore wind
