To support the growth of offshore renewable energy, RES Offshore is expanding its business providing development, engineering and technical services, construction management and O&M services to developers and owners.  We have played major roles in the development, construction and operation of projects in UK Rounds 1, 2 and 3 and are growing our business both in the UK and other markets.  Our capability covers all stage of a wind farm's development and all elements from turbines through to the grid.

RES Offshore is seeking a Bid Development Manager who can take the lead on developing and delivering proposals for new opportunities that RES Offshore is bidding for.  The opportunity could be for professional services, O&M delivery or construction management.

The Role:

Following receipt of an ITT or PQQ, the Bid Development Manager will:

  • Contribute to the development of a bid plan and bid strategy
  • Help identify and secure the resources needed to assist with the preparation of a bid
  • Assist with the identification of any supply chain parties, or partners we might bid with and assist in agreeing respective roles in the bid and delivery of the services
  • Manage the preparation of the bid ensuring it is well written, accurate and produced on time.  This will involve:
    • Leading on drafting,
    • Co-ordinating the technical input of others from RES Offshore and supply chain parties and partners
    • Helping develop the commercial proposals in conjunction with others, including RES Offshore Commercial and RES Group Legal
  • Play a lead role in securing internal approval for the bid
  • Assist with closing the contract
  • Liaise in all these matters with the RES Offshore Business Development Manager

The Person will:

  • Have previous experience of working in a services business preparing bids and/or be currently working in the offshore wind professional services sector
  • Have worked in an engineering-based industry for at least three years
  • Be able to communicate well, particularly in writing when describing RES Offshore's capabilities and our proposals within the bid documents
  • Be able to produce well written work when working within tight time constraints
  • Have commercial acumen, for example understanding how services can be delivered to achieve target profit margins
  • Have the ability to work at both a strategic level to put together bid strategies, and a detailed level to when developing proposals and managing bids
  • Be persuasive with potential customers, suppliers and partners
  • Be able to collaborate and manage across different groups within RES
  • Be able to demonstrate ethical behaviour
