Job Description

North-West Forest Operations are looking for a new forest operations contracts officer. You will manage contracts from start to finish - tree harvesting, ground preparation and tree planting. This will involve preparing coupe plans using GIS and other IT tools, engaging with other teams in NRW to identify constraints and opportunities, involving neighbours and other stakeholders, managing the work on-site, particularly safety, for forest users, colleagues and contractors. Training will be provided.

You will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following: 

  1. Experience of working across a wide range of land management disciplines.
  2. Knowledge of sustainable forest management, UKWAS and forest certification schemes.
  3. Experience of community liaison and public engagement activities.
  4. nowledge and experience of designated sites, and all aspects of forest practise, including land liabilities, forest planning and forest operations.
