Office Manager - BirdLife Southern NSW - Sydney Olympic Park

BirdLife Southern NSW is a branch of BirdLife Australia, working to conserve Australia's birds, and located at the Discovery Centre in the Newington Armory that forms part of Sydney Olympic Park.

The position is a 2-year contract, part-time for 14 hours per week, to be worked over at least 2 days per week. Flexible hours will be negotiated with a suitable applicant.

In this position you would be responsible for all of our office administration functions, including maintaining our accounts, helping to organise events, and supporting our volunteers.

As our only employee, you will need to be versatile, resourceful and capable of working independently. You will need:

  • Significant experience with a small office accounting system, preferably MYOB;
  • Significant experience in running a small office;
  • A good knowledge of computers and software applications, especially office suites;
  • Good problem solving and planning skills;
  • Maturity, resourcefulness and ability to deliver outcomes with minimal supervision;
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other staff, Committee members, volunteers and members.

An understanding of, and interest in bird conservation is desirable but not essential.

Salary is in the range $21.07–$26.92 per hour (negotiable), depending on skills and experience, plus superannuation at the rate specified under the Superannuation Guarantee legislation.
