Description
  All around the world, our oceans are in crisis. Three quarters of global fish stocks are suffering from overfishing and 90% of top marine predators are already gone. Destructive fishing practices destroy critical ocean habitats, pirate fishing harms global fish stocks and as the ocean becomes more vulnerable—it will succumb more quickly to the harmful effects of global warming. Whale slaughter continues to put endangered species at risk and pollution from land-based sources is turning the oceans into a dumping ground. Join the Oceans team and work together to save the World's oceans.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage research projects
  • Data entry as needed
  • Quickly develop knowledge of oceans, fishing, and other campaign issues
  • Assist in other projects as needed
  • Online research on companies and policies related to the fishing industry
  • Fact-checking
  • Data compilation
  • Writing factsheets and internal documents
  • Assistance with various projects, events, activities, and logistics
  • General administrative support
  • Other duties as apparent

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fluency in English required.  Fluency in another language a plus
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Critical thinking and time-management skills
  • Able to keep a level head in a fast-paced campaign environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong online research skills
  • Ability to work in Excel
