Greenpeace Italy is currently looking for an Oceans Campaigner who responds to Senior Oceans Campaigner.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Oceans Campaigner develops and realizes activities of the Oceans Campaign in Italy according to national and international priorities of Greenpeace. These activities might be both purely national and international and the Oceans Campaigner works autonomously by relating hierarchically to the Senior Ocean Campaigner. Qualities such as experience, technical and scientific knowledge, strategic ability of  complex projects (or subprojects) management are considered fundamental.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate has an adequate knowledge in the field of marine biology and oceanology, fisheries biology, marine resources conservation and has a thorough overview of the threats looming over the integrity of sea environment. The campaign is mainly focused on the Mediterranean Sea and its environmental problems, but, a good knowledge of all global issues pertaining to problems of preservation and management of marine resources and ecosystems is however required.

SKILLS REQUIRED / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or other educational/specialization qualifications related to the subjects of the campaign.
  • Technical/scientific skills, hands-on experience and practice of laboratory work, especially in the fishing sector.
  • Fully literate in main computer functions (Office package and Internet).
  • Fluency in written and spoken Italian and English. The knowledge of another language is preferable.

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 1 year of experience (also in the field of research) in a sector pertinent to the campaign.
  • Remarkable experience in campaign projects management, institutional relations, political activities and citizens mobilisation.
  • Experience in the elaboration/planning of projects (including strategic analysis of priorities, objectives, activities to undertake and necessary human and economic resources.
  • Experience in communication towards both media and inside the working group and the organisation.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Remarkable experience in the third sector and in social commitment, not necessarily in the environmental sector.

WE OFFER

Placement: fixed-term employment contract (CCNL del Terziario), full-time, 40 working hours a week.
