Our Oceans Campaign team at Greenpeace New Zealand is looking for a passionate graduate to step into this exciting internship opportunity.

As the Oceans Campaign intern you will have the opportunity to interact with the larger programme department, as well as some of the other departments of Greenpeace New Zealand, such as the different fundraising and organisational support teams.  You will be sure to gain a valuable insight into the workings of an international NGO and more.

We expect a high standard of commitment, professionalism and a positive attitude from our interns. In return we organise a workstation, regular catch-ups with members of the campaign team and the opportunity for professional development.

 

Responsibilities

 

>> Lead a research project that meets the plastic campaign objectives

>> Lead offline engagement events that meet the overall oceans campaign objectives

>> Work in a fast paced environment and can work in a highly independent fashion

>> Organize meetings, taking meetings and sending weekly team emails

>> Ad hoc tasks to assist the lead Campaigner

 

Competencies

 

>> Ideally research and/or policy background

>> Self motivated and directed, being able to work independently

>> Ability to analyse data and concepts and apply, and share with the team as required

>> Confident communicator

>> Doesn't need to have a marine biology background, but a passion for ocean and plastics issues

Our internships are usually 3 – 6 months long, based out of our Auckland office on a part time basis (minimum commitment of 15 hrs per week over 3 months). We welcome applications from all of our community!
