The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a not-for-profit environmental advocacy organization, is seeking a part time consultant for 12 months to coordinate and promote its Clean By Design initiative. Clean By Design aims to reduce the environmental footprint of apparel manufacturing, from fiber and dye selection to fabric sourcing and consumer care. Focus to date has concerned impacts of fabric dyeing and finishing mills in the supply chain of major apparel multi-national retailers and brands. The initiative is guided by an advisory group of designers and other key members of the fashion industry based in New York.
