Our Ecology, Historic Environment & Landscape (EHEL) team is looking to employ up to 8 full-time officers to bolster its Planning, Projects and Records teams as well as establish a new Natural Capital team. You will be joining a dedicated and experienced team of 12 ecology, 5 historic environment and 2 landscape officers.
We are looking for people with either a Landscape or Ecology background for the following job roles:

Ecologist Roles
Please tell us any relevant knowledge and experience you have in the above listed aspects and others in the Job Descriptions of the role and yet focus on the below. Planning: We are also looking for an Ecologist to primarily work in the Planning Team to review and comment on planning applications. Candidates that have a sound understanding and experience of Development Control will be looked upon favourably for this role.
Records: We are also looking for an Ecologist to primarily work in the Records Team and take on the responsibilities associated with managing and maintaining records within the Warwickshire Biological Record Centre and supporting local recording. Candidates that have a sound understanding and experience of Biological Record Centre Management will be looked upon favourably for this role.
Natural Capital: We are looking for up to two Landscape Officers or Ecologists to primarily work within the new Natural Capital team and have experience in developing woodland and habitat creation schemes or other schematic designing skills. We are also looking to develop our Landscape Characterisation skill sets within the team. Therefore, candidates that have either a good understanding of Development Management, Habitat Creation and schematic designs and/or, Landscape Characterisation experience will be looked upon favourably for this role.
General We will be choosing candidates that fit into the existing team as well as the creation of a new Natural Capital team depending based on existing skills coupled with an enthusiasm to expand skill sets. We have a workforce training plan that promotes active progression from apprentices to Delivery Lead, following the respective chartered institute competency frameworks (or equivalent).
The new Natural Capital Team will report to the Delivery Lead and supervise a team that will work with local authority consenting regimes plus internal and external landowners to develop habitat creation schemes. These schemes will support the existing Warwickshire Biodiversity Net Gain market and establish a Warwickshire Carbon market and other Warwickshire ecosystem service markets. They will continue to follow a Natural Capital Investment approach and deliver landscape solutions. The new team will also help deliver the Warwickshire Local Authorities pledge to plant over 566,000 trees; one equivalent to every resident in Warwickshire.
