Description

The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Regional Program Manager for our Community Program.  Based in Seattle, WA this position oversees SCA’s Community Programs in Seattle and the surrounding region. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the implementation and field operations for school-year, summer  conservation and youth development programming for youth & young adults
  • Facilitate outdoor education, conservation and workforce programming with youth and young adults.
    Develop & build program partnerships and funding within the Pacific Northwest
  • Supervise program staff for current programming in Seattle
  • Ensure that programming meets SCA program standards 
  • Oversee budgeting and program expenses

Qualifications:  Seeking a creative, knowledgeable and hardworking person dedicated to youth and the environment.  Successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as conservation, education, youth development
  • 5+ years experience in at least 2 of the following fields: education, outdoor recreation, conservation, youth or workforce development
  • 4-5 years progressively responsible program management experience and competence in team leadership, staff management, budgeting, training, marketing, and partnership development
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement conservation, community or youth development programs with youth and young adults
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse communities, youth organizations and high school aged youth. Seattle-area experienced preferred 
  • Fluency/proficiency in a second language highly desirable
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally
  • Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards
  • Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
  • Working knowledge of MSOffice
  • Certified as Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder (including CPR) or other approved medical training
