North Ayrshire Wildlife Sites Officer

Salary: c £19k

35 hours per week

Fixed term for 12 months

SWT is looking for a Wildlife Sites Officer to carry out a review of the Local Nature Conservation Sites of North Ayrshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the existing biodiversity information held on 149 sites, and will draw up the field survey programme they will go on to implement.  Duties include developing the survey method, liaison with landowners and reporting using GIS. 

Applicants must be educated to degree level in botany, field ecology or equivalent.  They must have proven experience in habitat surveying and be a proficient botanist.  A good working knowledge of the UK flora, and experience in ecological surveying are essential, as is the ability to communicate well and work with limited supervision.

This role involves extensive travel in and around North Ayrshire therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
