North Ayrshire Community Engagement Officer

Salary: £19k

35 hours per week

Fixed term for 12 months

SWT is seeking to appoint a full-time community engagement officer to involve local people in habitat network projects associated with the Ayrshire wildlife reserves.  Key to this is the support of existing conservation volunteer groups and the growth of participation in this area.  The post holder will work with neighbours and partners to deliver habitat enhancement projects as well as organise fun activities of interest to a wide range of people.  They will be expected to use every available media to publicise events, activities and news.

Applicants should have first class organisational skills and be an excellent communicator.  Importantly, they will be passionate about connecting people with nature.

Applicants must be educated to HND/degree level in a related subject and have a good working knowledge of the local flora and fauna.

This role involves extensive travel in and around Ayrshire therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
