18-month fixed term appointment – 36 hours per week

Post Number: 301489

We are seeking a highly motivated Nature Recovery Advisor to join our exceptional and growing Ecology team.

The Liverpool City Region has a wealth of nature sites and internationally important coasts and estuaries including the Dee, Mersey, Ribble and Alt estuaries and Wirral and Sefton coasts. We are striving to ensure that the very special wildlife thrives in a vibrant and progressive City Region economy.

Covering the districts of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St. Helens Sefton, and Wirral, this post is specifically targeted at ambitious individuals who wish to develop their ecology / planning careers and play a leading role in driving nature recovery in our City Region.  If you are working towards a professional membership that would also be helpful.

The Nature Recovery Advisor will fulfil a leading role for nature recovery and provide essential support to the more experienced members of the ecology team under the supervision of one of our Principal Ecologists and will also provide support to our Local authorities and the Mayoral Combined Authority. This will involve a leading role to develop a new spatial approach for Nature Recovery including the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, co-ordinate evidence gathering, data and GIS activities, support stakeholder engagement and work closely with officers in the local authorities amongst other tasks.  The role therefore offers great opportunity for professional development and a clear career development path to more senior roles within the team as professional experience grows.

As an employee of Sefton Council, you will enjoy the benefits of local government within an established City Region service. The Council are, where possible, operating a hybrid working model which will involve a combination of working from home and when required from a Council office site. Access to your own transport is required and the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is desirable.
