The Natural Resource Restoration Manager serves as an on-the-ground leader for the development and implementation of ecological and/or natural resource restoration projects for the New Jersey chapter. In addition, s/he serves a leadership role for the direction of our conservation lands management team through the supervision of stewardship staff. This position includes the following functions:
- Leads and manages teams which support and improve conservation efforts Statewide
- Design, seek funding and permits, and implement habitat restoration projects
- Builds strategic, scientific, and technical capacity in the field
- Develops key partnerships with public and private organizations in order to identify and resolve technical issues and to widely communicate solutions and best practices
- Develops innovative land management methods, analyses, tools and frameworks to address the natural system needs
- Engages local community support for local conservation efforts
- Negotiates complex and innovative solutions with government agencies and landowners to conserve and protect natural communities
- Develops and implements conservation strategies
- Assists with on-site implementation of projects including: operating of heavy equipment, hand tools, and chainsaws
