Description

The REC is seeking to contract three single entities (individuals or companies) for part-time assistance (approx. 30 workdays, 15 per academic year), one in each of three EC Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova) for an assignment spanning 21 months that is being undertaken in collaboration with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and its Knowledge Innovation Community for InnoEnergy (KIC InnoEnergy). Starting on October 1, 2013, the REC will promote KIC InnoEnergy’s educational programmes within key European technical and business universities. Expressions of interest are therefore welcome from individuals with the following skills and experience to lead in-country activities:

  • A solid understanding of their country’s educational sector, including key institutions in the fields of environment, energy and engineering studies
  • Demonstrable success in marketing and recruitment (e.g. advertising, presentation), both in person and via telephone
  • A good understanding of sustainable energy production, storage and supply solutions, including clean coal, nuclear, renewables, smart cities, and smart energy supply networks
  • Fluency in English and one or more languages of the countries listed above
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently, and to lead but also to listen
  • Dynamism, resourcefulness, responsiveness, diligence in documenting detail and reporting
  • Readiness to travel nationally extensively, and also internationally

The selected experts will also be expected to attend two project team meetings, probably at the REC’s head office in Hungary (all travel expenses will be separately reimbursed). One of these will be the project kick-off meeting in October (to be scheduled via Doodle).

Deliverables

Each of the three contracted experts will be expected to deliver, by the end of the assignment unless otherwise indicated:

  • Around 10 (interviewed) contacts (i.e. recruitment and careers officers) added to our database of leading innovative educational institutions (Q4, 2013)
  • Around 20 personal meetings with students/student groups from selected educational institutions (10 per academic year) to promote KIC InnoEnergy’s educational offer and scholarship opportunities (the MS cprogrammes Clean Coal Technologies; Innovation in Nuclear Energy (EMINE); Energy Technologies (ENTECH); Renewable Energy (RENE); Smart Cities; Environomical Pathways for Sustainable Energy Systems (SELECT); and Smart Electrical Networks and Systems (SENSE), and PhD programme)
  • Attendance at one relevant university recruitment fair per academic year and the publication of a minimum of five course adverts per year
  • Up to five student admissions to KIC InnoEnergy MSc or PhD courses

Remuneration will be in the range of EUR 200/day (gross), commensurate with experience (i.e. five years’ experience or more) and results.

If you are interested in becoming part of the REC team, please send your CV, bio, photograph and an expression of interest (cover letter) detailing your relevant experience, daily EUR rate and available capacity, to Jerome Simpson (Tel: +36 26 504 039) JSimpson@rec.org.

This call closes on Friday September 20. FAQs will be responded to on this page.
