Job objective

The Project Coordinator (NICF) will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all activities planned for the PNICF, leading the project office and establishing partnerships with the various stakeholders in the cocoa sector and others. CGIAR research centers in Côte d'Ivoire.

Main responsibilities

Under the supervision of the project manager and in close collaboration with other scientific staff involved in the program, the Project Coordinator (NICF) will carry out activities with specific tasks which include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in the identification of approaches to valuing natural capital in cocoa production
• Participate in the development of typologies, including the mapping of cocoa producers and the characterization of households and landscapes
• Prepare and implement implement detailed work plans approved by the project manager and donors
• Prepare periodic progress reports to stakeholders and donors according to the agreed schedule
• Develop terms of reference for the enumerators, in consultation with the project manager
• Organize workshops, trainings, consultations with stakeholders, Steering Committee meetings and relevant missions
• Coordinate the distribution of responsibilities among the members of the team and enumerators
• Advise the project manager on all aspects of project implementation, monitoring and evaluation
• Establish networks of stakeholders, for collaboration, learning and exchange of knowledge
• Facilitate the day-to-day functioning of the project office
• Participate in the identification of funding possibilities and contribute to the development of concept notes.

Qualifications / selection criteria

Qualifications: Hold a Master I or any equivalent diploma in agronomy, forestry or natural resource management

Professional experience and key skills :

At least 5 years of professional experience, preferably in an international working environment
• Previous experience and excellent knowledge of the cocoa production system and value chain
• Good knowledge of the Cocoa and Forests Initiative
• Well-developed skills in Scientific and technical data management and analysis
• Proven skill in working with GIS tools and statistical packages (such as R) and data management systems;
• Proficiency in relevant software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• Well-developed analytical and synthesis skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and scientific articles
• Good project management skills including human and financial resource management
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills with people of different cultural and national backgrounds
• Ability to work with a high degree of independence in assigned zones

Languages:

  • The candidate must be able to speak French and / or English fluently or have at least a working knowledge of the other language. Working knowledge of local languages ??spoken in southern and central Côte d'Ivoire is an advantage.
