For a driven, inspiring and innovative fundraising professional, the new role of National Fundraising Manager – Direct Dialogue with Greenpeace will see you provide strategic leadership to a committed team covering various areas of our fundraising activity including face to face, door to door and festivals. It’s a great opportunity to join the worlds’ most iconic and determined campaigning charity and take the lead on implementing our direct dialogue strategy while driving forward our fundraising efforts.

This is an exciting time to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Direct Dialogue Team, which is breaking new boundaries in private sites fundraising, implementing innovative solutions, embracing technology, and developing an internal culture that recognises the benefit of fundraising face-to-face across the organisation.

This new and pivotal National Fundraising Manager – Direct Dialogue role will see our successful candidate operate as a key senior manager in our supporter recruitment team and oversee a vital part of our wider fundraising activity. This will give you the ideal opportunity to bring fresh ideas and strategies to issues of environment and conservation in a unique organisation and setting, while leading your team to increase revenue generation and public awareness.

To achieve this, your main areas of responsibilities will include budget, forecast and financial management, where you will build, maintain and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the direct dialogue programme and complete end-of-year reforecasts, while making recommendations for budget reallocation. You will also oversee contracts, policies and lead staffing agency contact, including enhancing our existing relationship with our staffing agency, as well as creating successful relationships with partner agencies and delivering robust contract management.

This vital position will also see you:

  • Line manage three direct dialogue programme managers
  • Provide effective leadership and key insights, plus support team agility
  • Continue building on the planning and delivery of strong, sustainable DD channels in the UK market
  • Keep abreast of UK / global trends in direct dialogue, seeking to share best practice, external competitor analysis, reviewing new technologies and ensuring we are at the forefront of fundraising innovation.  

To make sure you don’t miss out, you must have a proven background of successfully managing a target-driven business unit in a people-focused fundraising service, as well as experience working for a charity supporter acquisition programme at senior management level.  You must also be able to demonstrate a strong track record of leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team, plus extensive budget management experience. An influential leader and outstanding communicator, it is also essential you have excellent IT, relationship-building, negotiating and project management skills.
