Our client globally recognised leader in Conservation is looking to fill the position of National Climate Change Policy Officer for their Johannesburg office. Requirements:· 3 years of tertiary education in the relevant field· 3 years work experience with exposure to government processes · Computer Literacy· Great communication skills· Willing to travel in South Africa· Background knowledge and understanding of South African sustainable development and climate change policies· A valid drivers licence· Ability to deliver public presentations Roles:· Outreach to interested groups-raising awareness and educating the public· Organise, attend and facilitate stakeholder workshops for building capacity and consensus· Build coalitions by engaging civil society organisations and networks such as the South African Climate Change Network and Climate Action Partnership and assist in the drive for transformation and change· Direct lobbying and advocacy via mass media, including participation in national and international communication campaigns· Attend stakeholder led initiatives to develop climate change response strategies· Participate in national, provincial, local and regional policy development processes· Connect with business and industry participants in policy and strategy development processed including business associations and key companies such as New Partnership for Africa Development· Facilitate relevant perspectives and expertise being brought to bear on particular process· The candidate will report directly to the Climate Change Programme ManagerIf you feel that you fit the above requirements mentioned then please forward your CV with a cover letter to candicew@caenviro.co.za Please note that should you not be notified within 14 days your application has been unsuccessful Foreign candidates who wish to apply must be in possession of a valid work permit and should submit a copy of it along with their CV.
