Bush  Heritage  Australia  is  a  national  non-profit  organisation  protecting  the  natural  environment through the management of land and water of high conservation value. The National Aboriginal Engagement Manager will oversee further development of Bush Heritage’s Aboriginal Partnerships and Engagement program. This role will lead the development and deepening of relationships with Aboriginal leaders and organisation’s, Government, Businesses and NGO networks that have an interest in Aboriginal land management and conservation programs.

Key selection criteria include:

  • Demonstrated passion and experience in nature conservation and a commitment to the objectives and values of Bush Heritage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Australian Aboriginal societies and cultures, issues affecting Aboriginal peoples in contemporary Australian society, and the diversity of circumstances of Aboriginal peoples.
  • Highly developed management, leadership, networking and influencing capability and a high level of credibility among Aboriginal networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively, negotiate, consult and develop partnerships with Aboriginal peoples.
  • Demonstrated skills in preparing and analysing substantial reports, submissions and correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability in presenting information to a wide range of people using techniques appropriate to the audience and subject matter.
