Mural Artists – Volunteer Opportunity in Rural Ecuador

Talented artists needed to paint murals on the walls of schools and other community buildings in rural Ecuadorfor the Andean Bear Conservation Project.  The murals will incorporate messages about conservation and the importance of saving Andean bears from extinction.

No qualifications needed, just talent and enthusiasm.  There could also be the possibility of running art or painting workshops for local children in the villages where you are painting murals, if you are interested.  Basic Spanish would be useful for this but is not essential.  The Andean or spectacled bear is not easy to portray accurately so you do need genuine artistic talent.

Your volunteer work as a mural artist will strengthen relations between the Andean Bear Conservation Project and the local community.  You will also be helping to ensure that the next generation grows up with an appreciation for the environment they live in and the importance of conserving the cloud forest with all its biodiversity, from tiny insects to the large, timid Andean (spectacled) bears.

This is a unique opportunity to use your artistic talent to help in wildlife conservation whilst adding to your portfolio and experiencing a beautiful part of the world well off the usual tourist trail.
