Description

The MSC's fishery certification program and seafood ecolabel recognise and reward sustainable fishing. We are a global organisation working with fisheries, seafood companies, scientists, conservation groups and the public to promote the best environmental choice in seafood.

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Standards, the Product Integrity Manager (PIM) has a key organisational responsibility in contributing to the development and credibility of the MSC's chain of custody (COC) programme.

The PIM will work closely within the Product Integrity Team in implementing various projects, including tracking current matters related to supply chain assurance, flagging likely future issues and monitoring compliance. The post holder will be involved in projects such as managing the supply chain traceability project, monitoring the effectiveness of the CoC programme in Asia and developing alternative options for chain of custody verification particularly for the US foodservice sector. The position will also lead and assist key policy development and evaluation functions or projects, as delegated, such as representing the policies and outcomes of the MSCs programme to its governing bodies and a variety of external audiences.

Required skills
The ideal candidate will have worked in the seafood supply chain, and managed the MSC CoC audit process for their business. The candidate will also have experience working in the foodservice sector, and experience in or detailed knowledge of supply chains that include the foodservice sector in North America or in seafood supply chains in East Asia; experience that demonstrates an understanding of global supply chains and the issues related to traceability; a relevant post-graduate degree or equivalent; and demonstrable experience working with stakeholders in supply chain management, science, traceability or policy development. Knowledge of third party certification schemes and the role of eco-labelling is desirable.
