Description

The Manager Spain and Portugal (MSP) will report to the Regional Director – Europe (RD-E) and will work in collaboration with members of the European Team, and other MSC departments  to deliver a consistent approach to the MSC’s target markets. Overall, the post holder shall be expected to focus initially on the Spanish markets, leading on to an increased involvement within the Portuguese markets over time, striving to increase MSC-labelled purchasing opportunities for consumers through wider availability and greater ecolabel recognition across these two countries.

The post holder shall ultimately be responsible for high level outreach to all key stakeholders in the region but with a primary focus on Non-industry stakeholders, and especially in the communications sector.
The post holder will operate as spokesperson for the MSC in the area, establishing media and PR relationships and developing and executing a communication strategy to build consumer awareness of the MSC.

Communications outreach involves frequent contact with journalists and generating positive coverage through trade and mainstream media, as well as other consumer outreach initiatives such as exhibitions, trade shows and promotional projects with partners. The post holder shall ensure that all MSC communications are targeted to meet audience needs, are produced to a high standard and represent the MSC accurately and persuasively.

The post holder shall also manage the Commercial Officer that will assist him/her with the delivery of the programmes’ objectives.
