Description

Marine and coastal areas around the world now face unprecedented pressures – are you looking for a challenge?

Newcastle University’s School of Marine Science and Technology, invites excellent students and motivated early-career professionals to consider applying for our MSc programmes.

If you are passionate about the marine environment and want to open up diverse opportunities around the world, come to Newcastle, develop your skills and establish a new career. Whether you’re interested in coastal development issues, or have a stronger business focus, why not study for one of our successful marine masters programmes?

The new International Marine Environmental Consultancy MSc builds on the success of our existing coastal management programme, but adds a dynamic business focus and builds on the temperate marine science strengths of the school. A unique combination of marine environmental science and in-depth taught management, consultancy and enterprise skills are offered, the latter reinforced by hands-on experience during a competitive consultancy project undertaken with an industry partner. The programme will build skills needed to work in leading-edge marine consultancies or develop new business ideas for the sector. New in 2008, this programme is looking forward to building on early achievements and entering its second year. Strong relations with key local partner consultancies present you with a unique opportunity to engage with regional and national companies, working closely with them throughout the course, to develop industrially relevant projects. The MSc culminates in a 4 month internship with a UK/EU or International consultancy.
