CENTRE FOR ALTERNATIVE TECHNOLOGY: GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THE ENVIRONMENT MSc ARCHITECTURE: ADVANCED ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENERGY STUDIESLECTURER/TUTOR JOB DESCRIPTIONGRADE: Lecturer 0.5 SCOPE: To contribute to the academic, professional and administrative activities on the MSc Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies course RESPONSIBLE TO: Programme Leader and Course Director SALARY: In the range £28,221 to £35,186 Pro Rata One-year contract only from March 2010 to the end of February 2011. DUTIES: The following duties and responsibilities are intended to give a broad indication of the variety tasks that a Lecturer/Tutor may be asked to undertake. It should be noted that a job description is not an exhaustive list of activities, and employees may be asked to carry out other duties commensurate with the grade of the post. The job description may also be amended to take account of changed circumstances, and employees will be consulted, if this is necessary. 1. To contribute to teaching, assessment, development and review for the MSc Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies course 2. In particular to act as a Seminar Tutor and Practical Studies Tutor for the MSc Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies course 3. To be present throughout the running of each teaching Module at CAT and undertake academic and pastoral care of students in designated Seminar group 4. To give lectures as required and contribute to the general research life and activities of the School of Architecture, Environmental and Energy Studies. 5. To undertake an agreed amount of Thesis supervision in consultation with the Thesis Co-ordinator 6. To undertake administrative and other duties as appropriate and in consultation with the Programme Leader 7. To work in accordance with CAT's employment policies and to be responsible for Health and Safety issues within a defined area. 8. To work in a flexible manner to include evenings and weekends and to be present during all of each residential module at CAT. PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential:
