Monitoring & Evaluation ManagerIntroductionMSC operates a global fisheries certification and ecolabelling program. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries and through the leadership of our partners, create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12 % of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 100 countries Information on the roleThe Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) works to safeguard the world’s seafood supply by promoting the best environmental choice in seafood to the consumer through the use of its logo. The organisation is recognised internationally as a ground breaking and credible solution to the serious environmental problem of overfishing. We are committed to understanding the environmental and organisational impacts of our program and evaluating how effectively we are delivering our mission. Our Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) program considers rigorous, impartial and consistent evidence as the scientific foundation to evaluate progress in these areas. Coupled with transparency, this approach is a cornerstone of MSC’s commitment to accountability and learning. Reporting to the Senior Research and Credibility Manager, this post is a key strategic position within the Standards Team. You will be responsible for the coordination of all Monitoring and Evaluation work across the MSC as a whole, and for research on MSC fisheries and fisheries engaged in the MSC leading to the generation of new indicators of programme activity and effectiveness. Through this work you will contribute to the collective delivery of the vision and mission of the MSC and to the collective management and strategic development of the organisation.
