Salary Band C: £20,281 - £23,919pa dependent on experience (pro rata) plus pension contribution.

Initial fixed term contract to 31 December 2010 with possible extension subject to funding

We require a part-time (14:48 hours per week) Midlands Fritillaries Project Officer to contribute to an exciting new project to help to conserve fritillary butterflies in eight important areas of the Midlands. In addition to the focus on High Brown Fritillary, Pearl-bordered Fritillary and Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary, the work will benefit a number of other rare and threatened species.

Principal duties are recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and coordinating a fritillary survey and monitoring programme. Other duties include liaison with partner organisations, helping to organise a programme of habitat management and providing management advice to landowners.

Experience of working with volunteers, good communication skills and knowledge of nature conservation are essential.
