Circa £26,000 depending on experience

Fixed term until 31 March 2010, London

The purpose of this post is to provide a dedicated microgeneration resource across the UK region by region particularly in the areas of advice provision, supply chain and sector development.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

  • Provide an excellent standard of customer service for customers who require more detailed microgeneration information;
  • Develop training and provide technology briefings and insight for local Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre Advisors;
  • Ensure provision of high quality assurance for reactive and proactive front line advice;
  • Stimulate customer demand and build awareness and understanding;
  • Work closely with supply regional partners to build a network of installers and product suppliers as well build an effective installation customer journey for advice centre customers;
  • Develop knowledge, insight and understanding of the sector to add significant value to regional development;
  • Seek additional funding to support further demand generation and further sector development;
  • Work with regional partner organisations on specific or generic projects.

To be successful for this role you will have:

  • A good understanding of the Renewable Energy Sector, specifically covering domestic Microgeneration technologies;
  • Strong commercial acumen and business skills to enable constructive and informed discourse with Regional industry bodies and industry itself;
  • Strong communication skills in order to provide: Leadership to advice centres and motivating advice staff on MG advice; and competent representation of EST amongst Regional industry and Government bodies;
  • Good organisational and administrative skills;
  • Good project management skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • The ability to prioritise tasks within a demanding environment;
  • Experience in Renewables sector and Microgeneration Technologies;
  • Strong relevant work experience;
  • A degree level education preferably with a post graduate degree in an environmental discipline.
