The Metrologist/Calibration Technician will provide support for all aspects of Joule's electronic (electrical) calibration, troubleshooting and repair services in accordance with established procedures and standards. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess a strong commitment to customer service and excel in a team-oriented environment. The position is located at Joule's demonstration plant in Hobbs, New Mexico. Training for the position will be conducted at the company's pilot plant in Leander, Texas. Responsibilities • Schedule and perform calibration of critical and non-critical process equipment and laboratory standards, and complete all associated documentation as required by SOPs. Qualifications Candidates must have specific electronic/electrical metrology knowledge and skills, including detailed knowledge of the metrology, mathematics, and applicable technical disciplines required to perform the described duties. They should have working knowledge of The National Electric Code, high voltage up to 460 volts, machine controls including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), relay logic, motor controls (VFDs and servo), temperature and pressure controls including PID, thermocouples, RTDs and transducers and operator interfaces. In addition, proficiency in reading electrical schematics and ladder logic and a clear understanding of analytical troubleshooting are required. A Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, Math, Science and training or certification courses in calibration and repairs, or similar, is preferred. The following attributes are also desirable: • Formal training in Metrology, previous Precision Measurement Equipment (PMEL) course |
