Membership Marketing Coordinator

 

Job title: Membership Marketing Coordinator
Salary: £17,485 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Status: This is a permanent post subject to satisfactory completion of a six month probation period

This is a unique opportunity to join the foremost eco-centre in Europe, the Centre for Alternative Technology. Based in beautiful mid-Wales, the Centre overlooks the Snowdonia National Park - a great area to live with a vibrant local community. 

 

You will oversee the marketing of CAT’s membership scheme, developing recruitment programmes, devising and monitoring campaigns and working closely with the department head to improve the membership scheme.

 

You will also have responsibility for developing the media sales strategy for CAT’s membership magazine, recruiting new advertisers and maintaining relationships with valued clients.

Responsibilities

 

Marketing – membership recruitment

·         Developing a recruitment strategy and budget in liaison with the Membership Coordinator.

  • Devising new campaigns and monitoring their effectiveness (including, for example, flyers, e-marketing and the development of face-to-face sales).

·         Coordinating market research, including benchmarking and customer surveys.

 

Media sales

·         Developing and implementing strategies to maximise advertising revenue from Clean Slate magazine.

·         Maintaining relationships with current advertisers and creating new links with potential clients.

  • Advertising administration, including managing copy, meeting deadlines, invoicing advertisers, recording income, monitoring budgets, reporting.

 

Affinity management

·         Developing and implementing an affinity partnership strategy.

  • Arranging suitable advertising materials with affinity partners.
  • Recording and monitoring income against budget.
  • Ensuring all enquiries regarding affinities are answered accurately and efficiently.

 

Other responsibilities

  • Promotion of our annual Members’ Conference.
  • Assisting the membership team with the planning and administration of the conference, including attending the event.

 

 

 

All Permanent Staff – Cooperative Duties

  • To attend a minimum of 6 monthly staff meetings per year (or such other number as may be agreed with the Management Group).
  • To consider issues presented to the staff body and be involved in the consensus decision-making process regarding such issues.
  • To input to policy development when policies are proposed by the Directions Team
  • To input to the strategy process when requested by the Directions Team.
  • To comply all CAT’s policies and processes as they are amended from time to time. To read and act upon policies and processes as they are approved.
  • To be responsible for own health and safety plus that of others as defined in the job description. To report to the Health and Safety Committee any matters of concern regarding health and safety.

 

Person specification

 

Essential

  • Strongly motivated with ability to work on own initiative.
  • Experience of marketing campaigns.
  • Creativity and imagination.
  • Strategic thinker, able to develop and work towards a coherent vision.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Confident, friendly, professional telephone manner.
  • Good time management skills, able to work to strict deadlines.
  • Reliable and thorough administrator - well organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Computer literate, MS Word and Excel, email and web.

 

Desirable

  • Marketing qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience of selling advertising or other sales experience.
  • Experience of cold calling/telesales.
  • Experience of working within a charity or campaigning organisation.
  • Knowledge of Filemaker Pro or other similar database systems.
  • An interest in and knowledge of sustainability/environmental issues.
  • Full, clean driving license.
  • Ability to speak Welsh or willingness to learn.
