About Forum for the Future

Forum for the Future is a non-profit organisation working globally with business and government to create a sustainable future. We aim to transform the critical systems that we all depend on, such as food, energy and finance, to make them fit for the challenges of the 21st century. We have nearly 20 years’ experience of inspiring new thinking, building creative partnerships, and developing practical innovations to change our world.

Where does this role sit within the organisation?

Our Network is made up of a global community of leaders united by their ambition and capacity to create a real and lasting change. Our Network members are at the forefront of sustainability, or have an ambition to get there - fast. Our Network provides a platform that brings these organisations together to collaborate with a focus on complex issues relating to the food and energy systems and sustainable business.

This is a busy role within a dynamic Communications and Networks team which will focus on growing our Network of 140 leading organisations – businesses and others – and ensuring it fosters productive and challenging membership relationships, in line with our organisation's mission

What will the Membership Manager do?

The Membership Manager will manage the relationships within our Network. They will use best-practice communications approaches to ensure we engage and sustain an engaged, coherent and change-oriented international community.

As part of this, the Membership Manager will help implement and promote a compelling international and annual programme of activities, deliver creative and high-quality communications with Forum’s Network members, and make personal contact with all new members who will largely be at a senior level.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an energetic and creative individual, with high levels of collaboration and interpersonal skills, and a good working knowledge of the sustainability issues facing businesses and other organisations.

You should understand our values and mission, and have demonstrable relevant experience in:

  • Account management to a high level of service.
  • Promoting and delivering a membership proposition: including marketing materials and online/offline members’ events programme.
  • Some business development or sales experience.
  • CRM databases as an ‘expert user’.
  • MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel; MS Outlook); internet navigation; contact databases; and social media.
  • Proofing, and the ability to translate complex data and ideas into simple, compelling content.
