The Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges is the leading sustainable development organisation for further and higher education in theUK.  We are a member lead organisation with approximately 290 university and college members.  Established 14 years ago we are now a charitable company.   With sustainability rising up the government, funding council and sector agenda,EAUCmembers have endorsed an ambitious Strategic Plan which will significantly increase Association products, services and professionalism.  This role will be key to delivering the Strategic Plan.

The role of the EAUC is to support and meet the needs of our members.  We run training events, an annual conference, produce newsletters and manage an active email discussion network.  Increasingly we have established externally funded projects with partner agencies and support and work with many partners on their projects.

With an expanding membership both in numbers and diversity of disciplines, the EAUC is committed to improving its services and products and finding find new ways to inform, guide, train and support these professionals.  In addition it will work with sector strategic partners to push sustainable development higher up the Further and Higher Education agenda.

Primarily the post holder will be responsible to ensure delivery of Association Membership Services as part of the EAUCStrategic Plan. The appointee will work closely with the rest of the Membership Services Team to communicate the benefits and developments of membership to its members effectively and creatively.

The appointee will take on a wide range of challenging activities drawing on a range of skills and provide essential drive and support to Association Members, its employees and Trustees. The Membership Officer will report and be accountable to the Head of Membership Services and will deliver and contribute to wider Association activities and targets.

 

The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel regularly within theUK

This role will offer the post-holder a greater understanding of environmental and sustainability needs of Universities and Colleges, and how to enable these members to benefit from the EAUC’s services.

The candidate will also benefit from gaining real experience of working in a busy and dynamic office with real opportunity to develop their creative input into communications and marketing material, as well as the skills in project and programme management, and an opportunity to devise and follow through their solutions within a busy university.

The successful graduate will have opportunities to learn about being a team player, developing communication skills in different mediums and will gain project management skills including  budgeting, planning, implementing and evaluating.

Permanent work opportunities may arise within the team over the duration of the placement but timing and funding will influence the likelihood of any further opportunities for the graduate within the team.
