EDF’s Membership Department solicits donations from millions of people each year.  Our staff works collaboratively with fundraising and data experts to make sure we constantly improve how we serve our members.  While constantly searching for ways to expand our base, we enable our members to be engaged, committed partners who take joy in helping to fund and advance EDF’s vital work.  Reporting to the Online Activism Coordinator, the Temporary Membership & Activism Program Assistant will assist the Membership team in the development and execution of communications, and in ensuring that our use of our networks is as effective as possible.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with strategic planning for membership engagement and acquisition through social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest Research content for online communications with members and activists.
  • Monitor Facebook page & report back on activity.
  • Assist in creation of monthly Facebook reports.
  • Monitor email inbox and provide customer service to members.
  • Answer inquiries from donors and potential donors about EDF policies.
  • Assist in the maintenance of and responses to postal mail.
  • Organize and analyze survey results for marketing research.
  • Create PowerPoint decks for presentation.
  • Maintain member data using Convio/Luminate Online and Commonground/Luminate software tools and assist with data hygiene projects.
  • Update online advocacy and web pages with EDF content and other related content.
  • Attend environmental membership events that promote environmental awareness and raise funds through employee workplace giving.
  • Assist in building, launching, and proofreading action alerts and email communications.

 
Qualifications

  • Recent college graduate
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent research skills
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Positive attitude
  • Frequent use of various social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Care2, Change.org
  • Knowledge of coding languages and/or email management systems (such as Convio) preferred, but not required

 
Hours: 35 hours a week
 
Compensation: $14/hour
