38 Degrees brings together 2 million members to campaign on the issues that matter to them. This ranges from battling to protect our NHS through to promoting freedom of speech and human rights, as well as many more local campaigns. 

We want to hire new member of the staff team to act as a champion for members within the office. It will be your role to ensure their comments and questions get answered and that their feedback informs everything we do. 

Key roles and responsibilities:

    • Leading our effort to give members a great experience when they get in touch.
      - Running our inbox and answering emails
      - Answering queries by phone, facebook and twitter
      - Managing the work of office and home-based volunteers who assist with answering queries.

 

    • Ensuring members' feedback and intelligence is at the heart of 38 Degrees campaigning
      - Compiling reports of member feedback to inform staff decision-making
      - Compiling member-generated data (e.g about MP's responses) to inform campaigns

 

  • Helping our members campaign effectively
    - Ensuring that replies to members give them the info and support they need to campaign effectively, e.g. by helping them reply to their MPs

Key opportunities for development:

  • Managing volunteers across the UK and increasing their involvement in the work of the 38 Degrees office team
  • Working with the Technology Director to identify new ways of integrating member communications with the rest of our campaigning tool set
  • Engaging with and supporting 38 Degrees campaigns

Key Skills:

  • Write great copy, quickly, and in line with 38 Degrees' tone
  • Use a wide range of software and web applications, and pick new stuff up quickly
  • Produce and analyse statistics, and manage data, on member suggestions and feedback
  • Work well in a team, delegate and share work

TERMS
12 month contract
Full time with some flexibility - average 40 hours/week
Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum depending on experience
27 days holiday per annum plus public holidays
