Summary: The Sierra Club seeks a savvy and scrappy Media Assistant to join its team of top communications professionals. The Media Assistant will plan, coordinate and execute media strategies for assigned national level issues and/or political campaigns, as well as provide support for media team members working on specific campaigns. Responsibilities of this new position will include, but are not limited to, assisting with advertising placement, organizing media events, drafting media materials, fielding press calls, and tracking press coverage. The Media Assistant will have flexibility to make the position their own, and we are looking for candidates who will own it. This is an entry-level position and the ideal candidate has a bachelors degree coupled with some experience with communications and media, strong writing skills, good organizational skills, and a passion for the environment. The ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively is a must. We are looking for a candidate who is a motivated self-starter and who isn't afraid to jump right in as a utility player for the nation's largest and most effective grassroots environmental organization.
