The Media Adviser will manage the relationship between the Senator and the media by providing advice about presentation, messaging and strategy, producing materials and developing relationships with the media in Canberra and locally.
The work environment is highly dynamic and will require accuracy and effectiveness to ensure up-to-the-minute communication of the Greens’ message within rapidly changing political debates.
This position will involve extensive travel and irregular hours.
A commencing salary between $55,881 - $58,806 plus an allowance of up to $13,497 in lieu of overtime is payable.
(Note that a 3% salary increase for these positions is due at the end of April.)
A probationary period of 3 months applies to all positions, with an option to extend by a maximum of 2 months.
This position commences on July 1st, 2011.
