The CMCC is taking into consideration the possibility to hire a talented, motivated and proactive research associate to support development and research activity on data assimilation for regional ocean models in the context of TESSA and DE FISH GEAR Projects.
The location is CMCC Headquarters in Lecce, LE, Italy.
The primary purpose for this position is to support development and applications of a complex data assimilation software system including building and optimizing multi-task job scripts, source code modification and management, diverse data management and visualization.
The minimum qualifications are:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering or in Computer Science or related disciplines;
- Good knowledge on High Performance Computing;
- Experience on use of parallel architectures;
- Good knowledge of parallel programming environment and libraries (MPI, OpenMP)
- Good knowledge of Fortran, C and bash scripting
- Good knowledge of both written and spoken English language.
The desired qualifications are:
- Master Degree in Computer Engineering or in Computer Science or related disciplines;
- Good knowledge of MatLab or equivalent data processing and visualization toolkit;
- Basic knowledge of numerical modelling;
The initial appointment is for 12 months starting from September 2014 at an annual salary ranging from 24K to 37K Euros, comprehensive of benefits, depending on qualification and experience.
