Climate change is now widely accepted as the largest long-term environmental problem facing humanity and its major cause is carbon dioxide emissions from energy use. A not-for-profit organisation formed in 1992, we've rapidly become a leading figure in the fight to address climate change. Our aim is to promote sustainable energy, while reducing consumption and carbon emissions in the domestic and transport sectors throughout the UK.

Marketing Manager – Transport & Network
Circa £30,000 depending on experience + excellent benefits
London, Permanent

The purpose of this post is to support the delivery of marketing activity in Scotland in the area of Transport and the advice network, ensuring all activity is well planned, driven by research and insight, clearly measurable and focussed on achieving the Energy Saving Trust’s organisational targets.

The main responsibilities for this post will be to:

  • Coordinate and lead 5 regional marketing managers and undertake well planned activities that meet the business needs of the Energy Saving Trust;
  • Identify and deliver marketing needs of the network;
  • Work with Consumer team to ensure regionalisation is considered and regional versions are communicated to the network;
  • Develop and deliver Energy Saving Trust’s Scottish campaigns specifically for Eco driving, Renewables and Business Initiatives delivered through the Energy Saving Scotland advice network;
  • Communicate and liaise with campaign/programme stakeholders to ensure that all key stakeholders are kept up to date with national (Transport and Business) and local marketing activity (Network) and that joint activity opportunities are maximised;
  • Provide line management to 2 direct reports;
  • Manage Public relations activity for Transport and Network with support of public relations agency;
  • Maximise regionalisation opportunities for the Network with PR activity.

To be successful in this post, you will have:

  • A higher education qualification (e.g. degree)
  • Substantial experience of working within a Marketing department.
  • Knowledge of a range of marketing principles and communications disciplines including design, print, direct marketing and digital
  • Solid copywriting and proof-reading skills
  • A strong understanding and practical experience of digital marketing and writing for the web.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to provide input and feedback in a constructive manner
  • A results orientated approach, with good organisational skills including ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your work
  • Proven experience of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proven Experience of co-ordinating a range of marketing communications projects from initial brief to completion;
  • Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience in managing agencies
  • Experience in digital marketing
